Espinoza Not Easily Replicated

Cristian Espinoza's contract has been extended, as Gateway United announced today that the Argentine winger has inked a Retention Player contract. Cristian was a very important part of the roster after being picked up as a late free agent signing. His points in the postseason made this decision an easy one.

The Saints have come to the decision that Diego Fagundez will remain with the club after signing him to a Retention Player contract. Fagundez is still in his prime, and could be very motivated with Austin.

Two Kamara's

The Saints will be keeping the Kamara's to start the 2020 season. Kei and Ola to be more specific. Both strikers have been journeymen as of late, but have proven to score goals and that is the name of the game after all. Kei Kamara will be kept as a DP, while Ola Kamara will be as a RET. Gateway United will be starting its 12th season looking to qualify for the playoffs for a 5th straight year. The club has amassed 102 wins in the regular seasons, and 6 league championships.

Say what you want about Kei Kamara and his persona, but he is a producer on the pitch. Kamara was signed as Gateway United's 3rd DP. Also signed was Miguel Ibarra as a retention player.

The Saints are proud to announce at the club has come to terms with Luis Silva to remain with the club after signing him to a Retention Player contract. "Luis could be that added depth that every club searches deep in the lineup."

Gateway United has come to the decision to resign Goalkeeper - Evan Bush to a retention player contract for the 2017 season. Bush is the third player protected by the Champions.

Clint Irwin's Contract Extended; Will Stay With Saints

"A good goal keeper can make all the difference." That was the words spoken in a press conference held this weekend. Gateway United's backup goal keeper in 2015 (behind David Ousted) was signed to a contract extension to suit up once again for the Saints signed under a retention player contract. "He's a good player who could have more of an impact this season." Will Irwin be raised to starting keeper in 2016 or be limited to backup again remains to be seen.

Williams Retained

Gateway United concluded the club's offseason signings today with the announcement that Sheanon Williams will be returning under a retention contract. The Saints now have exhausted the league maximum of 4 player signings before the draft. "Two trades, four signings, the offseason was a success." said the Saints owner.

Saints Resign Sheanon Williams

It was only a week, but Gateway United has placed Sheanon Williams back on the first team roster. "It was nothing personal and he knows that. Hopefully he can play an important role in the clubs postseason push." said the Saints front office. Davy Arnaud was released to make room for Williams.

Jack Mac Signed With Retention Funds

Even though he struggled mightly for most of the 2nd half of the 2013 season, McInnerney still possess significant potential and will be signed on as a retention player with Gateway United in 2014. "He is an exciting young player and with another year of maturity is expected to provide a fair contribution to the club.

Gateway United's 6th BSL season will begin March 8th. The draft and schedule have not been announced, but are both expected to be revealed sometime in February.
