Donovan Staying. Will Forgo A Loan

PRESS RELEASE
-After a very busy schedule Landon Donovan has decided to get some much needed rest and is not going to go out on loan to England. He has stated his intentions to be ready on day 1 for the 2011 season. "This is great news. Landon looked tired after returning from the World Cup and has been playing non stop for about 2 years. The rest should give him his legs back and have him primed to bring a championship to Gateway United" said the Saints manager.
-
Now that all the loan rumors have been put to rest, Gateway United can announce Landon Donovan as a Designated Player again. This will keep the capitain with the club for his 3rd season.

Saints Plan to Play Without Cunningham

OFFSEASON
-
Even though Jeff Cunningham's fate for the 2011 season was secured last week in the re-entry draft, the goal scorer is not expected to return for a third season with Gateway United. "Unless he is available late in the BSL draft, Jeff is no longer in the mindset of where we see this club progressing." said the Saints manager. Jeff Cunningham played for Gateway United in 2009 and 2010.

2010

Record: 7-8-5
Points: 26
Standings: 6th place
Offense: 6th place
Playoffs: None
Majors: None
Accolades: Show-Me derby winner

Season two was a struggle with injuries, and just a plain lack of momentum. The club would finish with a lackluster record. Landon Donovan was named the clubs first ever Designated Player, and David Ferriera was also named a DP. Julian DeGuzman was the Saints big pick up, but did not meet expectations. The addition of the St. Louis Cure created an instant rivalry.
