Call it a statement game as Gateway United flexed its biceps in week 1 to put Capital District in its place. "They arrived with confidence, but left St. Louis beaten badly." The final score was 7-2 but it could have been even worse with Shelton not able to enter the match with a brace. "Piatti was superb on the day and looked like an MVP."
