Gateway United took apart the Rose City Flyers to close out the 2013 season. Landon Donovan had 3 goals all by himself and Sonny Saad had 2 assists, and Federico Higuain had 2 goals. All this was nice, but a little too late. The Saints have nothing to do but watch from the sidelines this postseason.

It was an interesting week in the Gateway United camp. The loss to Union SC took a back seat. The club went dark soon after with the decision to not participate in any of the bidding wars that took place this week. Officially the club will go on record to say that it did not agree with the bidding war practices of the league and in frustration spoke out. "The Saints have been in communication with the commish regarding this grievance and not against the BSL, not against the commish, not against any particular club." said an official spokesperson for the club. Further details will not be released. 

Recently the BSL has announced the Acquisition Budget. It already appears to be a much better option. Could it need some tweaking down the road? Possibly. But, it looks like a better way.

Five Is Not Enough Against Gunners

Alvaro Saborio's 3 goals were too much to overcome as the Saints could not recover and fell in week 20. "It's a huge loss as it puts us out of post season rankings" said the Gateway United manager.  The Saints got scores from Nagbe, Torres, Plata, Brockie, and McCarty. Next up, is Union Southern California. The rival is playing well enough to be in 4th place of the Majors Cup qualifiers. "It's a do or die match for us. Anything short of a win and the season is done." In 11 previous meetings against the Union, five of those matches ended up in ties.
