Offense Stumbles; Saints Fit To Be Tied

Playing short a few starters is no excuse with the kind of depth and payroll the Saints ownership has put on the field to struggle in front of a national television audience this weekend. This club is a showcase franchise in the BSL and was in the game of the week against a Stars team that is chasing for the same Honors Trophy. All eyes were watching and the players weren't agressive enough. A tougher training this week is in order in preparation of another tough match ahead. The always fierce CD Gunners of upstate New York.

Missed Opportunities

There is something about playing Burud Town. Once again the Saints could not seal the deal and get a win over this club. The chances were there all game long, but the result is a very dissatisfying 2-2 draw. Leaving scores on the bench is nothing new in the BSL. It is part of the game. The Saints put out a quality starting roster that should have played better.

Saints Edge The Lions

Gateway United took the first leg of the Barium Cup and improved to 5-1 on the season after a win over Alliance. The Captain, Landon Donovan brought home the game winner off a rain soaked goal late in this match.
