Gateway United has just signed a 3 year agreement with the fake oil giant "Money Bomb" for 20 million fantasy dollars. The new sponsor will be plastered on the front of the clubs newly designed jersey for 2011.
The first opponent will be the defending league champions Union SC. This was actually a request made by Saints management. "We want to beat last years best to get things started off in the right foot. This organization doesn't shy away from anyone."
Gateway United leads the all time series 3-1-2, outscoring 21 to 16 in total points. Last time Gateway United played Union SC was game 15 (2010) in the regular season winning 5 to 1.
The Saints are open to trade options with the BSL expansion clubs that still have available positions. High draft picks are not a requirement. Reasonable offers will be considered.
After reviewing the debacle that was 2010 for the proud organization that is Gateway United, the club president has determined that there was a few bright spots that came about last season. Pick #42 in the 6th round of the BSL draft last year, Gateway United took a rookie that got little fanfare amongst the other club owners. But little could argue that the numbers this rookie put up in the later stages of the season were worthy of praise. It is with great pride that Gateway United selects Danny Mwanga as the clubs 2nd Designated Player. "The only concern is a sophomore slump. But he looks poised to be one of the major contributors in 2011" said the Saints manager.
After contemplating several different ideas Gateway United has determined the next course of action. Without going into to much detail, the Saints manager had given thought to trading away its other Designated Player option. "The staff here has its eye on several free agents that will be available in the 2011 draft and thought it would be wise to try and garner another first round draft pick. However, this decision is no longer being considered." Gateway United will announce its other DP next week.
